Labour Law - AED 15M Wage Recovery for 200 Workers

A construction company in Dubai had not paid wages to 200 workers for 8 months, accumulating AED 15 million in unpaid salaries. The workers, mostly from South Asia, were living in difficult conditions and unable to support their families back home. The company claimed financial difficulties and was threatening workers with deportation if they complained.

Our labour law team organized the workers, documented all unpaid wage claims with timesheets and employment contracts, and filed a collective labour complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). We simultaneously filed an urgent application with the Dubai Labour Court for a travel ban on the company directors and asset freezing order. We engaged with media outlets to bring public attention to the case while maintaining worker confidentiality. We also coordinated with the workers embassies for additional support.
